Track version numbers
Version numbers now have their own column.
Instead of 4.10 in TRACK: Number, a Cadenzabox metadata CSV now has 4 in TRACK: Number and 10 in the new TRACK: Version Number column.
This only affects albums that number their versions like 4.01 or 4.12. Albums where every track alt version has its own top-level (integer) track number are unaffected.
Why we changed it
Excel sees 4.10 as a decimal and quietly drops the trailing zero. That turns version 10 into version 1, and uploading the file again overwrites it. The new column uses whole numbers only, which gives no room for Excel to misinterpret anything.
Two ways to number versions
Both still work, and an album can use either.
With version numbers (the more common way nowadays): a version shares its main track’s TRACK: Number and has its own TRACK: Version Number. This is the style that has changed: what used to be 4.01 or 4.12 in TRACK: Number is now 4, with a version number of 1 or 12.
With unique track numbers: every track, versions included, has its own top-level TRACK: Number, and TRACK: Main Track Number says which main track a version belongs to. Nothing changes for these albums, and they don’t need version numbers.

Still on the old format?
That’s fine: the ingestion pipeline is backwards compatible. A file without a TRACK: Version Number column is read just as before, with versions like 4.06. Take care when opening in Excel if using that old format though: see Open CSVs in Excel safely.
If your own tools aren’t ready for the new column yet, tick ☑️ Use the old format when you export in the Cadenzabox format. Other formats, such as Harvest Media, or AdRev, haven’t changed.
If something doesn’t import
When the new column is present:
- A track whose
TRACK: NumberorTRACK: Version Numberisn’t a whole number, such as4.06or6.0, doesn’t import. The rest of its album still does. - An album where two rows point at the same track doesn’t import.
Other albums with no errors still import, and each error names the row to fix.
